Bitcoin Community Celebrates Satoshi Nakamoto's 50th Birthday, Marked by Symbolic Date and Untouched Fortune

Today marks the 50th birthday of Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin, according to the birthdate listed on their P2P Foundation profile as April 5, 1975. This date holds symbolic significance for advocates of monetary freedom, as it coincides with the anniversary of Executive Order 6102, signed by U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt on April 5, 1933, which banned private gold ownership in the U.S. as part of the New Deal policies. The ban was lifted in 1975 following the Gold Reserve Act.

The Bitcoin community celebrates this day annually, recognizing Nakamoto's contribution to the development of blockchain technology and the cryptocurrency ecosystem. Nakamoto's identity remains a mystery, and the Bitcoin wallets associated with them have remained untouched, holding between 600,000 to 1 million BTC. Nakamoto's Bitcoin white paper, released on October 31, 2008, titled 'Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System,' solved the double-spending problem that had plagued previous digital currency attempts.
